Please ask this young child’s voice coaches to suggest the child leave her hands at her sides. She should hold them at her sides or clasped in front of her. It is a far more compelling performance if that pure voice pours forth without the distraction of waving hands and arms.
Perhaps when she’s 30 that will be appropriate, or when singing in an opera.
And..leave off the obvious makeup…she is after all only a little girl. Let her have her childhood.
If you watch closer to here performances, you will see that the movement of her arms and hands are necessary, because when she is nervous she begins to play with her hands on her dress or hand with hand. She is only 10 (now 11) so she needs something that calm her … and that is the movement of her arms and hands.
… by the way I like her expression with face and arms very much!
Using her hands and arms is part of allowing the level and emphasise of voice to project, many performers do this, infact I would suggest it’s a sign of a really focused and tuned performer, it says alot about her control and tuning of her voice, as for the make up issues Jeanette has, well if you have not got anything nice to say then say Nothing!! Enjoy the ride Jackie, you deserve all you are working towards.

I agree. The waving hands and arms are horrendous. Very unprofessional. I can’t believe that someone hasn’t told her to stop this by now.
Definetly theres people that have nothing else to do
using hands to underline an expression isn’t generally speaking wrong. But this looks like she has been told to do so. Later on it will come from herself and then at the right time and with the right guesture. Now its just not felt by herself, it looks trained. Later videos will show her progress. She won’t need to become 30 to be able to feel her body (hands) wanting to paticipate. Yes she is only 10 and I’m sure I wouldn’t have been able to perform any better.
