The Accidental Tourist: This movie tells the story of Macon Leary, who is listless after the death of his son. With a divorce pending he finds himself involved with a new woman, who is helping bring him back to life. Now his wife decides to have him back, and he is faced with more tough questions. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang: A kid’s musical in regards to a flying automobile is one wacky journey, with entirely forgettable score and some of the shoddiest visual effects ever. This is loosely based on novel by Ian Fleming. Cast includes Dick VanDyke, Sally Ann Howes, Lionel Jeffiies, Gert Frobe, Anna Quayle, and Benny Hill. (142 minutes, 1968)

Payday: Acerbic, vibrant picture of life on the concert trail with a cocky, selfish country and western music megastar, a jerk who calls on his supervisor to “fix” some complications that crop up during the concert tour. One of those prototypical early1970s films that makes modern American movie theater come across bland. Cast includes Rip Torn, Anna Capri, Cliff Emmich, and Michael C. Gwynne. (103 minutes, 1973)

Law of the Lawless: An all star veteran cast is of chief interest here, with Robertson an ex-gunman turned law man. Cast includes Dale Robertson, Yvonne De Carlo, William Bendix, Bruce Cabot, Richard Arlen, and Kent Taylor. (88 minutes, 1964)

Born On The Fourth Of July: A true story that chronicles the life of Ron Kovic. A volunteer in the army, Ron does a tour in Vietnam, where he suffers injuries that leave him paralyzed. After his disturbing treatment by the government, and harrowing experiences in VA hospitals, Ron becomes an anti war activist. He feels completely betrayed by the country that he fought for.

The Born Losers: What appeared at the time just some other biker film attained new interest in the ’70s as the inception of Billy Jack; he helps free youthful dropout James from the grips of Slate’s gang. Excellent action scenes, although Laughlin’s use of brutality as an arraignment of bloodshed is already present.
