It wasn’t that long ago that a trip to the corner video shop was the most convenient way to get a movie. These days you can stay at home and get movies from a movie download site. Just about any movie every made can be attained through a movie download site now. Check out these samples.

Rock Pretty Baby: A mock-up of rock and roll contests of 1958. It is centered on a high school rock group as they attempt to win at a huge music competition. Cast includes John Saxon, Luana Patten, Edward C. Platt, Fay Wray, Pole McKuen, Shelley Fabares, and George Winslow. (89 minutes, 1956)

The Born Losers: What appeared at the time just some other biker film attained new interest in the ’70s as the inception of Billy Jack; he helps free youthful dropout James from the grips of Slate’s gang. Excellent action scenes, although Laughlin’s use of brutality as an arraignment of bloodshed is already present. The Lost World; Jurassic Park: John Hammond has learned to bring dinosaurs back to life from their DNA. After an attempt at marketing viewing these dinosaurs goes terribly wrong, all the animals are killed and the island closed. The problem is that something has survived.

The Saint: Master thief Simon Templar is close to retirement. He decides to take one last job, to properly fill his bank account. A Russian billionaire hires him to steal a formula for cold fusion from scientist Emma Russell. Two things change his plans. He falls in love with the beautiful scientist, and learns the potential disaster if this formula was in the wrong hands.

The Sea Gypsies: Fine family venture has Logan cruising round the globe with his young family. Becoming shipwrecked in Alaska becomes the ultimate adventure. Cast includes Robert Logan, Heather Rattray, Mikki Jamison-Olsen, Shannon Saylor, and Damitri Patterson. (101 minutes, 1978)

Frontier Marshal: Vibrant retelling of occurrences leading to legendary gunfight at the OK Corral. Scott is perfect as Tombstone’s new marshal, Wyatt Earp. Romero is more moody than cold-blooded as Dr. Halliday, and Kelly is the gal from his past who reminds the Dr. of his earlier, saner days as an obstetrician. Cast includes Randolph Scott, Nancy Kelly, Cesar Romero, Binnie Barnes, John Carradine, and Eddie Foy. (71 minutes, 1939)

Trading Places: This movie is testing heredity vs. environment by switching a “have” preppy Aykroyd and a “have-not” road hustler Murphy. Murphy, in his second film, is a powerhouse, and makes up for director Landis’ pleasures like a subplot engaging a horny gorilla. Cast includes Dan Aykroyd, Eddie Murphy, Ralph Bellamy, Don Ameche, Denholm Elliott, Kristin Holby, Al Franken, Tom Davis, and Bill Cobbs.(116 minutes, 1983)

Bullet in the Head: Extreme, highly charged tale of 3 buddies who leave Hong Kong to go to war torn 1967 Vietnam and are drawn into a whirlwind of tough situations that tests their friendship. A film spiritual and over wrought with action footage and altercations that are as daring as anything that Woo has tried onscreen. Cast includes Tony Leung, Jacky Cheung, Waise Lee, Simon Yam, Fennie Yeon, and Yolinda Yan. (136 minutes, 1990)

Sgt. Bilko: An army comedy with Steve Martin, Dan Akroyd and Phil Hartman. Sgt Bilko does basically everything but army duties with his platoon of soldiers. Life in Sgt. Bilko’s army is quite nice. That is until Major Thorn shows up and tries to spoil the fun.
